Radium Engineering Ford Fiesta ST Fluid Lock Dual Oil Catch Can Kit

2014+ Ford Fiesta ST Oil Catch Can Kit Details: Radium Engineering catch cans feature large 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, two-stage oil separation baffling, and an O-ring sealed dipstick. These kits install using factory voided bolt holes and integrate seamlessly with surrounding components. These two catch cans (PCV Side and Crankcase Side) operate completely independently and are sold individually or as a set. They DO NOT vent to atmosphere (VTA), so they are emissions compliant and track legal. The closed-loop systems remove oil and sludge from the PCV gasses before it reaches the engine for combustion. A closed-loop system also promotes negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance. Furthermore, the closed systems prevent unwanted oil vapors from entering the cabin. Integrated dipsticks on the catch cans allow easy inspection of accumulated fluid. No cutting, drilling or permanent modifications to the vehicle are required. The 20-0377-FL Fiesta ST PCV catch can kit mounts to the front right engine mount and installs underneath the OEM engine cover with no modifications required.

This can works in-line with the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve and retains its factory function. When the intake manifold pressure is near or above atmospheric pressure, the PCV check valve closes and thus this hose experiences no flow. Conversely, the PCV hose experiences controlled vacuum when the engine is idling, cruising, and decelerating. This would typically draw crankcase vapors, unburnt fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately after high load operation. Note: Because Radium catch cans are pressure sealed, they are ideal for this turbocharged application, so connecting to the intake manifold is permitted.
The 20-0378 Fiesta ST Crankcase catch can kit mounts to the two ECU mounting bolts at the rear left of the engine bay. The complete kit installs underneath the OEM engine cover with no modifications required.

This can connects in-line with the crankcase vent port. Under low loads, it is at atmospheric pressure, but when the engine is under high load (WOT), this hose experiences high flow out of the crankcase. This would typically cause oil and sludge to build up in the air filter intake pipe. Oil accumulation in the intercooler reduces the heat exchanger's thermal efficiency and decreases performance.
