CCV Oil Catch Can Kit for 05-13 Chevrolet Corvette Fluid Lock Radium Engineering

Radium Engineering oil catch cans feature oversized 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, a two-stage oil separation system, and an O-ring sealed dipstick. These kits include everything needed for a complete installation. The catch can plumbs in-line with the PCV valve and extracts oil and water condensation from the crankcase gases that would otherwise enter the intake manifold. Furthermore, the closed system prevents unwanted oil vapors from entering the cabin. FEATURES: Effectively increases octane and engine performance from cleaner intake air. Due to alternator location, 20-0785-FL is not compatible with ZR1 (LS9). However, 20-0786-FL is compatible. 2. Use 20-0260-FL instead for C5 LS1 and LS6 Chevrolet Corvettes. Starting in 2004 with Gen IV LS engines, General Motors replaced the PCV valve with a 2.5mm fixed orifice. This measure was, presumably, to save production costs and eliminate a maintenance part. NOTE: A PCV valve serves several purposes for the crankcase; it promotes negative pressure and prevents boost pressure. Also, in the event of a backfire, the PCV valve prevents combustible vapors from igniting in the crankcase. The PCV catch can kit improves the performance of the Gen IV LS crankcase ventilation system. The catch can is plumbed in-line between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. When intake manifold pressure is near or above atmospheric pressure, the PCV check valve closes, and thus, this hose experiences no flow. Conversely, the PCV hoses experience controlled vacuum when the engine is idling, cruising, and decelerating. This would normally draw crankcase vapors, unburnt fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately after high-load operation. Because the OEM 2.5mm orifice is restrictive, a replacement baffled oil cap is included to extract as much crankcase gas as possible. COMPATIBILITY: 05-07 Corvette (LS2), 06-13 Corvette Z06 (LS7), 08-13 Corvette (LS3), 09-13 Corvette ZR1 (LS9), 10-13 Corvette GS (LS3 wet sump), 10-13 Corvette GS (LS3 dry sump), 2013 Corvette 427 (LS7). To retain factory functionality, the crankcase ventilation system (CCV) oil catch can installs in-line between the crankcase vent (CCV) port and the intake tube. At low loads, this reservoir is subject to atmospheric pressure. However, when the engine is at high load (wide open throttle), these vents experience high crankcase outflow. This would normally cause oil and sludge to build up in the air filter intake tube.
