The Mishimoto baffled oil catch can for the BMW N54 is designed to reduce carbon buildup, a common problem in direct-injected N54 engines. This kit utilizes the proven engineering of the Mishimoto compact 2-port baffled oil catch can, which incorporates a bronze filter and internal baffles to better separate oil from crankcase vapors. Mishimoto engineers designed a CNC-machined top with large inlet and outlet ports to match the internal dimensions of the crankcase ventilation (CCV) system hose. This baffled oil catch can will protect your intercooler, intake system, and VANOS system from oil blow-by and will help maintain proper octane levels to reduce potential detonation. The kit includes two direct-fit hoses that require no modification to the engine cover and a direct-fit mounting bracket that is not only extremely easy to install, but also places the can in an easily accessible location. Two CNC-machined 3/4" aluminum fittings connect the hoses to the can. Like all our products, this baffled oil catch can kit includes the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty. Our oil catch cans differ from most air-oil separator (AOS) systems in several ways. First, our cans are not heated. This means all blow-by gases condense in the can, including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors. Most AOS systems also drain the blow-by back into the oil pan, while our cans trap it and keep it out of the engine permanently. If you saw what we have seen at the bottom of our cans, you wouldn't want that draining back into your oil either.
