A known weak point of the SR20 valvetrain is the rocker arm displacement at high RPM, when hitting the rev limiter, or during over-revving. Denstoj rocker arm retainers solve this problem.

We have adapted our proven retention clip system for the legendary Nissan SR20DE and SR20DET platforms.

These clips attach to the factory rocker arms, paired with custom-machined hydraulic lash adjusters (HLA) that house the clip. The result? The rocker arms remain locked in place, giving you confidence when hitting the rev limiter, on the track, or during a misfire.

Installation:

We recommend using guide shims on both sides of the rocker arm to reduce lateral movement.
Important: Before installing the hydraulic lash adjusters (HLA), it is necessary to check the plunger movement. If the plunger does not compress when squeezed firmly between your fingers, the lifter is likely full of oil.

To release the oil:

Place the lifter in a soft-jaw vice or hold it firmly with a rag.

Use a small tool or paperclip to gently press the internal check valve through the oil inlet hole.

While holding the check valve open, slowly compress the plunger with your fingers.

Oil may come out; this is normal.

Repeat the process until the plunger can be easily compressed and returns to its original position with light pressure.
