PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AEM V2 Water/Methanol Injection Kit, Multi-input Controller (0-5v/Frequency or MAF/Duty Cycle/External MAP Voltage), 200 PSI Water/Methanol Pump, 1 Gallon Tank, Conductive Fluid Level Sensor.
AEM WATER/METHANOL INJECTION SYSTEM ADVANTAGES: Water/Methanol injection for forced induction (turbocharged or supercharged) gas performance engines is a proven method for effectively reducing air charge temperatures and suppressing detonation. This allows racers to reliably increase boost and advance ignition timing—without using high-octane racing fuel—for power gains of up to 20%. AEM’s Water/Methanol Injection Systems use the most robust hardware combined with more advanced features than any other comparably priced water/methanol system. Water/Methanol Injection System for gas performance forced induction engines of all boost levels. AEM offers two different water/methanol controller designs for gasoline vehicles:
One is boost dependent for forced induction vehicles up to 35 PSI (PN 30-3300 kit). This controller features an integrated manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor and a molded nipple for the boost hose hookup.
The second controller (PN 30-3350 kit) features a multi-input design that enables users to install AEM’s Water/Methanol Injection Kit on ultra-high boost pressure vehicles (above 35 PSI) using an external 0-5V MAP sensor.
Robust, Easy to Use Controller Designs. The new controller designs (Boost Dependent Kit PN 30-3300 and Multi-Input Kit PN 30-3350) feature large, turn-resistant knobs and larger numbering to easily set accurate start and full activation points. They include a status LED and test buttons covered for splash resistance. The controller housing has a harness mating connector for its redesigned positive-lock wiring harness. The boost dependent controller housing has a molded-in barb for a boost hose and a wiring legend on the back. Both housings feature an integrated easy-to-access fuse and molded-in mounting tabs.
Simplified Wiring. AEM's Water/Methanol Injection kit’s wiring harness is terminated with a positive-lock connector on one end and has color-coded wires for easier installation. Both the power and ground wires for the pump are included in the harness, simplifying the wiring process and eliminating any chance of the pump accidentally activating from a short in the system. An additional wire is included for adding an optional on/off solenoid to stop fluid flow when the system is inactive.
Integrated Boost Safe Feature: AEM’s water-methanol systems controllers include an integrated "Boost Safe" output feature that monitors the entire injection system and triggers a ground signal via an output if it detects a voltage-related error (short, bad connection, broken wire, overheated pump, high or low voltage signal, etc.). This allows users to define their safety strategy, from something as simple as turning on a warning light to more advanced strategies such as reducing boost or ignition timing, or switching fuel maps in a standalone engine management system. Combined with the integrated, high-precision conductive low-fluid switch in the tank, "Boost Safe" can also put the engine into safe mode before the system runs out of fluid. This exclusive feature is only found in AEM's water-methanol injection systems.
Heavy-Duty High-Pressure Injection Pump: AEM’s internally bypassed water-methanol injection pump does not cycle on and off and provides quiet, smooth operation. It features robust construction, including integral hose fittings, EPDM seals, and a Santoprene diaphragm that provides consistent and reliable fluid delivery.
4.5-Liter (1.15 Gallon) Low-Profile Tank: AEM’s gasoline water/methanol injection systems are available with or without a compact, 4.5-liter (1.15 gallon) tank that features a fluid reservoir to prevent starvation. A more accurate, conductive low-fluid sensor is integrated into the tank and features a positive-lock connector with color-matched wires to the wiring harness. The sensor eliminates any chance of incorrect readings due to interference from debris.
Machined Injectors and Nozzles: AEM includes a precision-machined injector in its gasoline water/methanol injection kit. It features an integrated check valve to prevent unwanted fluid flow. Three machined injector nozzles are included to tailor water/methanol flow to an engine's horsepower.
Revised Flow Control Strategy for More Linear Fluid Delivery. AEM engineers spent a lot of time redesigning the controller’s flow control strategy for a more linear flow delivery. This means that the flow delivery better matches an engine’s need for water/methanol injection, which further optimizes air charge cooling and detonation control.
Progressive, boost dependent, and multi-input (0-5V/frequency) controllers feature large adjustment knobs, an integrated harness connector, an integrated fuse, a protected status indicator, and a test button for splash resistance, plus mounting tabs.
The wiring harness is terminated with a positive-lock connector on one end, with color-coded wires for easier installation, an integrated pump ground circuit, and an additional wire for an optional on/off fluid solenoid.
Includes "Boost Safe" output for full safety under all conditions (see our water/methanol failsafe device).
Heavy-duty high-pressure injection pump features integral fittings, a Santoprene diaphragm, and EPDM seals for corrosion resistance. Our pump maximizes line pressure for optimal atomization and its quiet, smooth operation is virtually undetectable.
Precision-machined aluminum injector with integrated check valve.
Three interchangeable injector nozzles to cover a wide range of horsepower levels (250cc/min, 500cc/min, and 1000cc/min).
4.5-liter tank with fluid reservoir, integrated conductive low-fluid sensor, and positive-lock connector (tankless systems available).
Includes 6 meters of injection tubing.
Dash-mounted LED light for system status and low fluid.
Reduces Air Charge Temps. The term "liquid intercooling" with water/methanol injection refers to a highly atomized mist of water/methanol being injected into the air stream and beginning to evaporate. This evaporative effect reduces the air charge temperature by up to 50 degrees Celsius and provides a more oxygen-rich air charge. Reduces Detonation (Knock). Water absorbs heat, and methanol is a cool-burning fuel with anti-knock properties. When combined and introduced into the intake stream, they effectively increase the vehicle’s anti-knock index, allowing for increased boost pressure and ignition timing with conventional gasoline.
Reduces Carbon Deposits. Modern vehicles equipped with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems for emissions control are prone to carbon buildup in the intake. This buildup can create hot spots in the combustion chambers that can lead to detonation. Water/methanol injection has a cleaning effect that reduces carbon buildup and, in some cases, can improve fuel economy.
