PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Maximizer 6 incorporates numerous safety features that allow you to fully optimize your nitrous system, protecting your engine from potential damage.
The Maximizer 6 progressive nitrous controller operates up to four distinct injection stages, based on time, RPM, speed (MPH), throttle percentage, or boost pressure. Whether your engine is naturally aspirated or supercharged, gasoline or diesel, the Maximizer 6 is the best choice.
Safety Features
The Maximizer 6 monitors throttle percentage, engine RPM, nitrous pressure (PSI), boost pressure or crankcase vacuum, as well as three other user-configurable sensors, to ensure your engine is in optimal condition to receive nitrous. If the Maximizer 6 detects any condition outside the safe range, it will interrupt or reduce the nitrous flow to protect your engine from damage.
Display and Programming Options
The Maximizer 6 is typically configured and adjusted using a simple Windows-based laptop program. An optional 4-inch touchscreen display can be connected to view and adjust common tuning parameters on the fly, without the need for a laptop.
Data Logging
The Max 6 automatically logs all input data (including 3 user-defined inputs) so you can review important data from multiple previous runs. The Max 6 includes enough internal memory to store over 100 quarter-mile runs before you need to save them to a laptop.
Hardware Features
The Max 6 includes internal drivers for stage one and stage two that handle 70 amps each or 140 amps in single-stage mode. Stages 3 and 4 require external drivers, available separately.
Progression Options
The Max 6 has multiple progression options to cover a variety of racing types. These progression options are described below:
Time-based Progression:
This option is a popular choice for drag racing applications where you always start from a dead stop. This option is very easy to tune so that the output is smooth enough to eliminate wheel spin and increase power as you go down the track. The controller gradually adds more nitrous as traction increases.
RPM-based Progression:
This option works wonders for vehicles with enough traction to handle maximum nitrous power at the start of first gear. This mode allows a small amount of nitrous to be added at low RPMs and gradually increase to maximum power as RPMs rise. It's an excellent choice for vehicles with a tight torque converter. Since nitrous flow is limited to a small amount at low RPMs, it can be safely activated at low RPMs, which will help launch the car from the start.
MPH (miles per hour) Progression:
This option is ideal for drivers who sometimes start from a standstill and other times with a rolling start. The nitrous controller will automatically limit boost to lower power at lower speeds, where traction is limited, and provide higher boost at higher speeds, where traction is greater. Drag racers can use this feature to set an MPH limit for nitrous to achieve consistent acceleration times.
Throttle Percentage Progression:
This option allows you to control the car in case of wheel spin. Nitrous flow gradually increases and decreases as you move the throttle, allowing you to regain traction and continue the race. This is very beneficial for circuit racing and drifting vehicles. The throttle percentage feature is also useful for street cars, allowing you to introduce a small amount of nitrous at mid-throttle, smoothly transitioning to full power when you floor the accelerator. The feeling is like driving a car with double the displacement.
Boost Pressure Based Progression:
This is a useful option for diesel and gasoline turbocharged engines. Boost pressure progression allows nitrous to come on hard to eliminate dreaded turbo lag, then gradually taper off to let the powerful turbo do its work. The end result is monstrous power with no lag, even with a massive turbo. In diesel engines, it doesn't allow full nitrous delivery until the engine starts building adequate pressure, preventing the engine from stalling due to nitrous. Air-Fuel Ratio (AFR) Compensation and Protection:
The Maximizer 6 monitors the engine's air-fuel ratio (using an aftermarket wideband oxygen module) and automatically adjusts the output of the fuel and nitrous solenoids to achieve the desired air-fuel ratio (the target AFR is user-configurable). As bottle pressure drops towards the end of the run, the Maximizer 6 automatically adjusts the solenoid output to maintain a consistent and safe AFR. Air-fuel ratio safety limits (too rich and too lean) are user-configurable, so the controller will completely cut off nitrous flow if the air-fuel ratio exceeds the user-defined limits.
