Big Brake Dynamic Lug Drive Hat - Short Offset

Wilwood’s new Big Brake Dynamic Lug Drive hats incorporate a new disk mounting system that eliminates bolts and allows disks to float independently of the hats as they expand and contract with thermal cycling. All thermally generated stress at the disk attachment points is eliminated. Disks run flatter and truer. Brake response and pedal feel remain consistent. Pad knock back and disk drag are eliminated. Hats are no longer distorted by stresses generated from the thermal expansion and contraction of the disks. All problems associated with thermal distortion, including bolt hole alignment issues when trying to reinstall new disks on a used hat, are eliminated.

Spring-loaded, replaceable stainless steel inserts at each lug of the Lug Drive system protect the aluminum hat from wear that would otherwise occur from the stainless steel disk pressing against the hat during brake torque application. A single, large retaining ring secures the disk on the hat, making assembly and installation far easier. No more torquing and safety-wiring disk mounting bolts. Already lightweight stainless alloy disks feature additional drillings to eliminate unnecessary rotating drivetrain weight.
