Standard blow-off valves like those that come standard with the Mustang often suffer from a number of problems. Like all Turbosmart blow-off valves, the new Mustang Kompact Shorties have been designed, machined, and hand-assembled in-house. Keeping the process in-house ensures the best quality, and the aircraft-grade aluminum alloy construction means that cracks and leaks, even with elevated boost pressure levels, will never be a problem. The Mustang Shortie is produced with a lightweight two-piece brass/aluminum piston, which is then perfectly paired with precision-engineered springs, providing extremely precise valve response and a significant increase in performance over standard valves. The Shortie's dual-port design provides a return port to keep the car's computer in optimal condition, and a second vent-to-atmosphere port for that characteristic Turbosmart blow-off valve sound that we all know and love.
