Turbosmart’s StraightGate50 is the highest flowing external wastegate in the world. The StraightGate50 is a zero-offset butterfly-type wastegate that enables massive flow and near-linear control, and unmatched boost pressure control across the entire operating range. The boost-pressure based pneumatic StraightGate50 takes the award-winning eSG50 and simplifies control using a traditional boost-pressure based actuator. The self-balancing nature of the StraightGate50 means a huge adjustment window of over 5 times the base spring pressure can be achieved. Pre-fitted with 6 psi springs in the GenV actuator that features single and dual port control, the StraightGate50 is easy to use and packed full of performance, flow, and features. The Turbosmart StraightGate50 has been designed from the ground up and validated in-house to create a new level of control and flow, never before seen in a wastegate. The zero offset butterfly valve is subjected to exhaust gas pressure equally on both halves, which pivot centrally, resulting in a self-balancing valve against any pressure. This self-balancing means less effort is required to actuate even against the highest pressures, and allows for a wider tuning range, regardless of how the valve is actuated. The increased flow is achieved thanks to the efficiency of a straight-through valve compared to a poppet-style valve, where exhaust gases must turn 90 degrees.
