Forge Motorsport FMDVDS3R Closed-Loop Blow-Off Valve for Citroën DS3 1.6

This closed-loop (silent running) recirculation valve has been designed for the 1.6-liter turbo engines found in the Citroën DS3, which are equipped with electronic bypass valves. It is recommended for all vehicles with increased boost pressure due to ECU remapping, as well as those operating in hot climates. It offers a solution to many common problems.

The most frequent problem with the original unit is that the ring holding the diaphragm is made of very thin plastic. After repeated heat cycles, this plastic can weaken and eventually fail. Unfortunately, this failure does not always trigger a check engine light when the valve opens under boost pressure, meaning you could be losing performance without realizing it. When this happens, the diaphragm no longer seals correctly.

This problem can also cause the bypass valve to break when being removed from the turbo, and in extreme cases, plastic fragments can enter the turbocharger.

Forge's alternative significantly improves reliability. Its bypass valve incorporates a machined aluminum piston, which replaces the original diaphragm with a pressure/vacuum actuated piston system, maintaining factory ECU control. This bypass valve design has been proven for years on VAG vehicles.

The spring is interchangeable to accommodate different boost pressure levels, and the solenoid connects directly using the supplied wiring harness connector.
