Twintercooler Forge Motorsport FMINTMK7-C.R for Volkswagen Golf 7 2.0 Red

Following on from our proven Twintercooler setup on the Mk5 and Mk6 models, this intercooler has been designed to work in parallel with the stock core. If ultimate cooling is your aim then it can be used with our FMMK7FMIC (which mounts in the stock location and offers vastly improved cooling on its own). The Twintercooler core sits in front of the stock radiator, intercooler, and air conditioning condenser and is therefore in the direct flow of cold air entering the front of the car through the main lower grille. This core has proven itself on both road and track cars and is still an excellent and worthwhile addition to a stock or modified VW.

Again we have data to prove, both on the dyno and on the road, that the Twintercooler core, with no other modifications, gives a massive 20˚C (69˚F) temperature drop. The comparison tests were carried out on the same day on the same dyno and at an ambient temperature of 6˚C (42˚F). Take a look for yourself at a standard run and a run with the Forge Twintercooler fitted. Power and torque were up slightly, but please bear in mind that these engines should only be putting out 220bhp, yet we are seeing them reach between 230-250bhp stock, and there are various limitations put in place by the stock ECU. Once remapped, the much lower inlet temperatures will allow the full potential to be exploited.

The Twintercooler provides an additional 6.1 litres of capacity to the intercooler system, along with 1016 square centimetres of additional surface area to help improve the air charge temperature of the engine. The Twintercooler has dimensions of 635mm wide x 160mm high x 60mm deep, and the inlet and outlet pipework diameter is 60mm.

There is no bumper modification required to install this intercooler*. All parts required and full instructions are included, and the total installation time is less than 2 hours.

The unique Forge silicone hoses included with the Twintercooler kit were designed with SolidWorks and incorporate a high-quality modified silicone inner liner, known as fluorosilicone. This liner makes the hoses suitable for use with modern long-life coolants, OAT coolants, and oil mist. The use of a fluorosilicone liner ensures that Forge silicone hoses are the best, longest-lasting, and preferred choice for the serious car enthusiast. The construction has been engineered to exceed that of the OEM fitments and will enhance any engine bay, both technically and aesthetically.
