The ZRP Audi / VW 2.2L RS2 / S2 crankshaft is made from solid aerospace grade 4340 steel, and no compromises have been made in material quality, to ensure the best possible product. This crankshaft is carefully designed from our vast experience, to provide the best possible engine performance and the production process consists of very strict inspections to ensure they are of the best quality and tight tolerances for a perfect fit. This crankshaft is fully balanced to 1 gr.cm /- 0.1 using state of the art Sunnen machines, balance result report included. Please see individual features for your application below. Chamfered oil holes Journal radius spreads load stress. Tapered rod journals for weight reduction. Technical characteristics of ZRP crankshafts Full CNC machined. ION (Plasma) nitriding process for hardening. Multi-stage heat treatment. Shot peening for stress release. 100% Magnafluxing treatment for a flawless surface finish. Heat treatment for superior wear resistance. Micro-polished for longer bearing life. Ultrasound and X-ray tested to ensure a reliable end product.
