OVERVIEW: Radium Engineering's fuel pump hanger allows the use of one or two aftermarket fuel pumps in the original Mitsubishi Evo 7-8-9 fuel tank.

The machined assembly easily installs into the factory fuel tank, replacing the stock clamping flange. A male 8AN pump feed port and a male 6AN return port simplify the installation of aftermarket -AN hoses. However, pre-assembled adaptors are compatible with the stock fuel lines.

Custom designed stainless steel electrical studs easily support the high current demand that compact bulkhead connectors do not. These serviceable connections are properly sealed and impervious to all fuels, both standard and exotic. The low-profile design keeps all wiring hidden underneath the stock cover plate. Non-conductive blind nuts are included to prevent accidental short circuits. Furthermore, the high quality internal wiring is insulated with ETFE, a chemical resistant material. Electrical components for the fuel pump(s) and original level sensor are included.
A significant issue with the stock EVO 7-8-9 fuel pump hanger is the restrictive return port and Venturi jet pump. When using high-flow aftermarket fuel pumps, the stock jet pump becomes overly restrictive, creating unwanted backpressure in the regulator return line, leading to excessive fuel rail pressure. The Radium Engineering fuel pump hanger includes a Venturi jet pump with a new integrated pressure relief valve to minimize backpressure.
All fuel returning from the regulator and connecting hose exits through the jet pump, keeping the original fuel tank baffle full to prevent fuel starvation. Single pump applications can re-use the stock fuel pump controller wiring, but it is recommended to upgrade, as these high-flow fuel pumps draw additional current and require a larger gauge wire. Fuel pump wiring kits can be purchased. Select 1 quantity for single pump applications and 2 quantities for dual pump applications. IMPORTANT: This fuel hanger eliminates the in-tank fine micron fuel filter from the stock fuel pump hanger. It is highly recommended to use an aftermarket fine micron (less than 10 micron) fuel filter in the feed line. The Radium Fuel Hanger Plumbing Kit is a good option.
