OVERVIEW

This Radium Engineering fuel pump hanger replaces both the right-hand and left-hand fuel hat assemblies. It is compatible with either one or two aftermarket fuel pumps. The kit reuses the passive and active fuel level sensors. Additionally, it maintains a saddle-type tank crossover system using new and improved components. No cutting or vehicle modification is required for installation.

CONNECTIONS

The combined fuel pump outlet is 10AN ORB (7/8"-14) female threaded on the top cap. However, an SAE quick connect is included to mate with the OEM feed line.

The fuel return inlet is 10AN ORB (7/8"-14) female threaded on the top cap. However, an 8.5mm adapter is included to mate with the OEM return line.

All connections are machined with a low profile so they will not interfere with the surrounding area.

COMPATIBLE FUEL PUMPS

The 20-1170 is configured to be used with 1 or 2 aftermarket fuel pumps. These can be 2-wire brushed fuel pumps or 3-wire/4-wire brushless fuel pumps.

The best pump choice depends on the expected engine horsepower, fuel type (gasoline, E85, etc.), and fuel pressure.

FUEL STARVATION PROTECTION

Several mechanisms work in harmony to keep the integrated surge tank full at all times. This ensures the pump(s) are supplied with an adequate amount of fuel, even during aggressive driving. The integrated surge tank is fed fuel from three different sources:

The OEM in-tank reservoir has a labyrinth to keep fuel from sloshing out during cornering.

The constant low-pressure fuel return from the regulator triggers the Venturi jet pump siphon and also fills the reservoir.

Fuel drawn from the passive side of the tank via the Venturi jet pump siphon constantly fills the reservoir.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Custom-designed stainless steel electrical terminals easily support the high current draw that compact multi-pin connectors cannot. They feature an anti-rotation system that prevents the terminals from spinning. These serviceable connections are hermetically sealed and impervious to all standard and exotic fuels. Non-conductive anodized aluminum blind nuts are included to prevent accidental short circuits. Furthermore, the in-tank wiring is high-quality chemical-resistant ETFE insulated.

NOTES

For single pump setups, the OEM fuel pump wiring can be reused.
It is recommended to upgrade the OEM wiring to ensure the pump receives full power and operates at its maximum potential.

If a second pump is used, a dedicated pump relay and fuse are MANDATORY.
