Suitable for vehicles equipped with a charcoal canister.
The PCV system vents excess crankcase pressure, which is drawn into the intake manifold and returned to the engine. This recirculated air contains aerated oil from the crankcase, which is burned in the engine. Turbocharged engines often draw large amounts of oil through the PCV system.
This Forge oil catch tank system removes the aerated oil for later draining and recycling. The kit is suitable for installation on 2-litre FSi engines, such as those in the VW Golf MK5, Golf MK5 Edition 30, and SEAT Leon Cupra (not compatible with engine codes CCTA and CBFA).
Depending on geographical location, some compatible vehicles incorporate a charcoal canister to comply with local emissions regulations. The canister is located at the front of the engine bay (on the left when opening the bonnet); see also the black plastic tank in the engine bay image in photo number 2. This kit, part number FMMK5CTC, is designed for models equipped with a charcoal canister.
