Perforated Steel Rotor with Dynamic Mount
Steel rotors are used in all forms of motorsports. They provide a durable and lightweight option in applications where temperatures are kept low to moderate, and intense heat spikes are only seen intermittently. This includes anything from a drag race car stopping hard at the end of a ¼ mile, to a high-speed stock car coming into the pits after a qualifying session on a super speedway. Steel rotors are also found on lighter open wheeled cars such as sprint and modified, and various light weight road race cars. A special alloy and proprietary manufacturing processes lend these rotors high resistance to thermal distortion with excellent friction and wear characteristics against pads.
