Modern vehicles, such as the MQB platform-based Audi 8Vs, have a pretty rigid, laser-welded body shell. At the front, the chassis is very stiff between the suspension top mounts, but at the rear there is much more flex, which negatively affects the car's handling under demanding conditions, especially with stiff suspension. This is why the track-focused European limited edition Golf Clubsport S features a rear brace from the factory.

The RacingLine Rear Brace solves this problem by tying these critical stiffness points together. The brace uses machined solid aluminum mounts, affixed to elegant, ultra-stiff carbon fiber rods, dramatically stiffening the rear of the chassis. It is compatible with all Audi A3, S3 and RS3 8V, both Hatchback and Sportback body styles.

By bracing and tying together the rear suspension top mounts, the brace helps maintain correct suspension geometry under heavy cornering loads. It significantly reduces body flex, allowing the suspension to operate as it was originally designed.

Despite the increased stiffness, this handling improvement is achieved without sacrificing ride comfort or introducing additional noise, vibration, or harshness into the cabin.

Its ingenious design makes installation easy, utilizing existing mounting points in the strongest parts of the body shell, with no need for drilling, cutting, or trim removal. Furthermore, it is completely reversible and easy to remove.

The upper mounts attach to the strong rear seatbelt anchor points, while the lower mounts hook into the luggage tie-down points (RacingLine has included new luggage tie-down points on the new mounts). Since every production body shell has slight dimensional variations, the design allows the brace to be tensioned after final adjustment to achieve a precise and accurate fit for your vehicle.

RacingLine's slim, low-profile design minimizes impact on trunk space and does not affect the operation of the rear seats. It is compatible with the rear seats in an upright or folded position (or even completely removed). The full interior can even be maintained with the rear brace installed.

As a track-oriented modification, RacingLine has taken a rigorous approach to weight reduction. The 5-axis CNC machined solid aluminum mounting brackets are joined to high-stiffness 3K carbon fiber link rods.

Aerospace grade T6-6061 aluminum is used throughout, with a triangulation design developed through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to maximize stiffness and minimize weight.
