PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
An oil catch can is essential in a high-performance vehicle to protect the engine from the high levels of crankcase exhaust gases accumulated during aggressive driving. Excess oil-saturated air recirculating back into the intake can result in decreased performance. Radium Engineering oil catch cans feature large 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, two-stage oil separation baffles, and an O-ring sealed dipstick. See "More Details" tab for information on Radium catch cans.
S2000 CATCH CAN KITS: Radium Engineering offers two completely independent S2000 catch can kits sold individually or together. They do not vent to atmosphere (VTA), so they are emissions compliant and track legal. Closed loop systems route clean, filtered air back into the engine for combustion and to promote negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance. Furthermore, closed systems prevent unwanted oil vapors from entering the cabin. If only one kit is being purchased, the 20-0093 PCV side kit is recommended. For optimal protection, especially when running a forced induction system, the 20-0096 dual catch can kit is recommended.
The 20-0093 PCV Catch Can Kit (shown below) installs in-line with the 3/8" PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve. Oil and sludge can enter the intake manifold through this line during normal driving. A catch can is a great way to reduce the amount of contaminants that build up in the intake manifold and degrade engine performance. Note: Because Radium catch cans are pressure sealed, they are also ideal for turbocharged applications, so connection to the intake manifold is allowed.
PCV kit includes: Machined aluminum Radium catch can with integrated condenser and dipstick; S2000-specific anodized Radium mounting bracket; 6AN anodized aluminum hose ends; 6AN anodized adapters; stainless steel mounting hardware; OEM spring hose clamps; 3/8" PCV rubber hose.
The 20-0092 CCV Catch Can Kit (shown below) installs in-line with the 1/2" valve cover breather port and the air intake tube. At low RPM, the hose experiences atmospheric pressure, but when the engine is under high load (WOT), it experiences vacuum and normally sucks crankcase vapors, unburnt fuel, and oil sludge into the air filter intake tube. If the engine is turbocharged or supercharged, a catch can will help prevent oil from entering the intake plumbing. This kit is compatible with all strut tower bars.
Crankcase kit includes: Machined aluminum Radium catch can with integrated condenser and dipstick; S2000 specific laser cut anodized Radium mounting bracket; 8AN anodized aluminum hose ends and adapters; enough 1/2" PCV rubber hose for custom applications; vacuum/heater hose to eliminate OEM metal hard line; stainless steel mounting hardware.
20-0096 The Dual Catch Can Kit includes both 20-0092 and 20-0093 components.
