Forged Narrow Superlite 6R Radial Mount Caliper

The Forged Narrow Superlite 6R/ST (FNSL6R/ST) caliper is our newest version of the venerable Superlite caliper series. It adds the versatility and convenience of radial mounting to this popular caliper group. Radial mounting simplifies adaption, and provides two planes of adjustment for precise alignment over the rotor. These calipers integrate Wilwood’s latest technology, and the addition of Thermlock insulated pistons to provide big brake power in extreme high temperature environments for a broad range of applications for track and show vehicles alike.

The key to the superior performance of the FNSL6R caliper series is in its design of the body, which is both extremely durable and efficient.

Starting at just 4.9 pounds, it is the result of computer generated solid modeling and FEA stress analysis technology. The most notable feature of this new caliper design is the forging. Each body is stress-flow forged from premium grade aluminum alloy stock. This process realigns the internal grain structure of the metal to flow within the contour of the caliper body. This process eliminates the stresses and interruptions to the internal grain structure that occurs when machining a straight block. Simply put, there is no better way to build a stronger aluminum caliper body. A unique differential bore six-piston configuration provides balanced loading for even pad wear in sustained high temperature environments. FNSL6R/ST calipers incorporate Wilwood’s proprietary Thermlock pistons. This multi-component piston design creates a highly efficient thermal barrier to further reduce heat transfer from the pads into the caliper body, seals, and fluid.
