DPC56 Brake Caliper
DPC56 rear calipers are engineered as a high-performance street and custom replacement for Corvettes and hot rods utilizing Corvette suspension. DPC56 calipers add high-tech style and provide the precise response and balanced pad loading that a fixed mount four piston caliper offers.
The DPC56 is a direct bolt-on replacement for the OE calipers on all 1997-2004 C5, and 2005-2013 C6 base model Corvettes using 12-inch diameter rear rotors. The calipers attach directly to the Corvette spindle without mounting brackets or adapters, and are compatible with all OE banjo bolt style brake hoses. Using modern computer aided design and modeling technology, the DPC56 is built around Wilwood’s highest performing DynaPro Low-Profile caliper series. These calipers feature an ultra-high strength forged aluminum body, stainless steel pistons, internal piston dampening springs, internal bore seals, stainless steel bridge wear plates, and a single bleed screw system. All DPC56 calipers are compatible with the same 12mm thick 4812 type brake pads used in all DynaPro Low-Profile series calipers.The piston volume of the DPC56 matches the piston volume of the OE calipers. This makes it fully compatible with the OE master cylinder output and ABS system. Bias between front and rear axle braking, as well as pedal travel, are maintained as OE. For custom hot rod builds, this caliper volume also readily adapts to other styles of manual or power assisted pedals with the appropriate master cylinder sizing.
