Forged Dynalite-M

The Forged Billet Dynalite-M caliper represents an additional upgrade to the renowned Forged Dynalite series calipers. Specifically designed to optimize outside clearance, it forms the basis of Wilwood's new Classic Style brake kits. The latest advances and innovations in caliper design and manufacturing have resulted in substantial improvements in strength and performance over all comparable models.

The Forged Dynalite-M is the strongest caliper in its class, with weights starting at 1.27 kg (2.80 pounds). The stress-flow forging process realigns the granular structure of the metal within the contour of the caliper body. This process eliminates breaks and interruptions in the internal granular structure that occur when machining a straight block.

The radially transitioning design generated through finite element analysis (FEA) eliminates steps and ledges in the area between the piston housing body and the caliper bridges. The incorporation of a radius in this transition area substantially increases resistance to deflection and caliper separation under load. Structural deflection and volume displacement testing has shown that the Forged Dynalite caliper outperforms all existing models of this popular size. Even without considering the increased strength and reliability of forging, the reduced tendency for deflection and the resulting decreased fluid volume displacement translate to greater clamping efficiency with less pedal travel. Each caliper is equipped with Wilwood's SRS stainless steel bridge plates. SRS plates eliminate bridge wear caused by pad rubbing and extend the life of the caliper body. Other standard Wilwood features include high-temperature seals and stainless steel pistons to eliminate corrosion and reduce heat transfer from the pads.
