Powerlite Radial Mount Brake Caliper
The Powerlite four-piston radial mount caliper weighs 2.26 pounds and features a sleek profile, superior strength, light weight, and durability in high-temperature situations. It easily adapts to a wide range of Sport Driving, Rally, and Off-Road applications.
The strength comes from a combination of process and design. The stress-flow forging process realigns the metal’s granular structure within the contour of the caliper body. This eliminates the stresses and interruptions in the internal granular structure that occurs when machining a straight block. The radial transition design generated by Finite Element Analysis (FEA) eliminates steps and shoulders in the area between the piston housing body and the caliper bridges.
The incorporation of a radius in this critical area substantially increases resistance to deflection and caliper spread under load. The Powerlite system uses a new 7912 type brake pad, held in from the top by Quick-clip pad retainers. This eliminates the need for an additional support at the bottom of the caliper and provides additional clearance for mounting closer to the hub on applications with small wheels and rotors. The pad radius matches rotor diameters between 9.45” (240.0mm) and 11.75” (298.5mm), and the caliper easily adapts to many 13.00” (330.2mm) wheel applications. The quick-release clips also allow for easy pad access without caliper disassembly.
