Powerlite Radial Mount Brake Caliper
The Powerlite four piston radial mount caliper weighs 2.26 pounds and features a sleek profile, superior strength, and lightweight durability in high-heat situations. It easily adapts to a wide range of Sportsman, Rally, and off-road driving applications.
Strength comes from a combination of process and design. The real stress flow forging process realigns the metal's granular structure within the contour of the caliper body. This eliminates the stresses and disruptions in the internal granular structure that occurs when machining from a straight block. Radial transition design generated using FEA (finite element analysis) eliminates steps and shoulders in the area between the piston bore housing and the caliper bridges. The incorporation of a radius in this critical area substantially increases resistance to deflection and caliper separation under load.
The Powerlite system uses a new type 7912 brake pad, retained from the top by Quick-clip pad retainers. This eliminates the need for an additional support bridge at the bottom of the caliper and provides additional clearance for closer to hub mounting on applications with small wheels and discs. Pad radial depth fits rotor diameters between 9.45" (240.0mm) and 11.75" (298.5mm), with the caliper readily adapting to many 13.00" (330.2mm) wheel applications. Quick release clips also allow for easy pad access without caliper disassembly.
