Radial Mount Powerlite Brake Caliper
The Powerlite four piston radial mount brake caliper weighs 2.26 pounds and features a sleek profile, superior strength, lightweight, and durability in high heat situations. It easily adapts to a wide range of sport driving, rally, and off-road applications.
Strength comes from a combination of process and design. The stress-flow forging process realigns the metal’s grain structure within the caliper body contour. This eliminates the stresses and disruptions to the internal grain structure that occur when machining a straight block. The radial transition design generated using finite element analysis (FEA) eliminates steps and shoulders in the area between the piston housing body and the caliper bridges. The incorporation of a radius in this critical area substantially increases resistance to deflection and caliper separation under load.
The Powerlite system uses a new Type 7912 brake pad, held from the top by Quick-clip pad retainers. This eliminates the need for an additional support at the bottom of the caliper and provides additional clearance for closer to hub mounting in small wheel and rotor applications. The pad radial fits rotor diameters between 9.45” (240.0mm) to 11.75” (298.5mm), and the caliper easily adapts to many 13.00” (330.2mm) wheel applications. The quick release clips also allow for easy access to the pads without caliper disassembly.
