Forged Superlite 4R Radial Mount Calipers
FSL4R/ST calipers bring the performance advantages of Thermlock® pistons for maximum heat protection. Thermlock® pistons used in the ST models block heat transfer from the pads and reduce caliper, fluid, and seal temperatures by as much as 25% over standard stainless steel pistons. With a Type III anodized finish, these are the calipers of choice for all types of severe duty and sustained hard braking on dirt and asphalt ovals, as well as a wide range of road racing, rally, and off-road applications.
The FSL4R has been redesigned with internal fluid ports that eliminate external fluid crossover tubes. The crossover tube has been replaced by two additional bleeder screw assemblies that allow differential bore models to have left and right hand orientation, with no front or rear bias configuration. The most distinctive feature on all FSL6R caliper models is the exceptional strength and reduced weight of the forging. Weighing in at only 4.4 pounds, the caliper body design is the product of computer generated solid modeling and stress analysis technology. Each caliper features closed-end bridges with a radial transition to the main body and piston bore housings. The elimination of machined steps and sharp shoulders in this critical area provides a substantial increase in overall body strength and resistance to deflection under load.
