Superlite 4R Forged Radial Mount Caliper
The Superlite 4R caliper series is the benchmark in short track asphalt, late model, modified, and open wheel competition. It also enjoys a strong reputation in a variety of road race, rally, and sport driving applications. The new FSL4R model series is the latest innovation to this Superlite caliper family. It has been re-engineered with internal fluid ports that eliminate the external fluid transfer tubes. The transfer tube has been replaced with two additional bleeder screw assemblies that allow symmetrical piston bore models to be mounted right or left, front or rear position. Differential bore models still require left and right orientation, but no fore or aft setup is necessary. The most outstanding feature of all FSL4R caliper models is the exceptional strength and light weight of the forging. Weighing in at a mere 4.4 pounds assembled, the caliper body design is itself a product of computer generated solid modeling and stress analysis technology. Each caliper features closed end bridges with a radial transition into the main body and piston bore housings. Eliminating machined steps and sharp shoulders in this critical area provides a substantial increase in overall body strength and resistance to deflection under load.
