Superlite 4 Forged Radial Mount Caliper
Superlite 4R caliper series are the benchmark in short track asphalt, late model, modified, and open wheel competition. They are also highly favored in various road racing, rally, and sport driving applications. The new FSL4R model series is the latest innovation to this Superlite caliper family. They have been redesigned with internal fluid ports that eliminate the external fluid transfer tubes. The transfer tube has been replaced with two additional bleed screw assemblies that allow symmetrical piston bore models to be mounted right or left, front or rear. Differential bore models will still require left and right hand orientation, but no leading or trailing set-up is necessary.
The most significant feature of all FSL4R caliper models is the exceptional strength and light weight of the forging. Weighing only 4.4 pounds (2 kg) fully assembled, the caliper body design itself is a product of solid modeling computer technology and stress analysis. Each caliper features closed end bridges with a radial transition into the main body and piston bore housings. The elimination of machined steps and sharp shoulders in this critical area provides a substantial increase in overall body strength and resistance to deflection under load. Every FSL4R body is stress-flow forged from a premium aluminum alloy billet.Rotor Dimensions
