Superlite 4R Forged Narrow Radial Mount Calipers
FNSLR/ST forged four piston Thermlock calipers provide championship proven performance with piston sizing that provides balanced rear braking distribution for use with Aero6/ST front or other larger piston front calipers. FNSL4R/ST calipers incorporate competition technology into a radial mount body design with wide adaptability. It includes competition upgrade options for all FNSL4R rear big brake kits. Thermlock pistons, high-temperature seals, SRS bridge plates, and two-piece bleed screw assemblies are standard on all calipers. Four proprietary Type 7416 high-temperature competition brake pad compounds provide fine-tuned bias adjustment of braking response, friction requirements, and temperature range. The key to the superior performance of the FNSL4R lies in its extreme duty and efficient body design. At a starting weight of 4.9 pounds, it is the result of computer generated solid modeling and FEA stress analysis technology. The most outstanding feature of this new caliper design is the forging. Each body is stress-flow forged from premium grade aluminum alloy billets. This process realigns the internal grain structure of the metal to flow within the contour of the caliper body. This process eliminates the stresses and interruptions to the internal grain structure that are found when machining a straight block billet. In short, there is no better way to build a stronger aluminum caliper body. Available in various piston diameters, it provides braking as either a front or rear caliper. FNSLR/ST calipers feature Wilwood's proprietary Thermlock pistons. This multi-component piston design creates a highly efficient thermal barrier further reducing heat transfer from the pads to the caliper body, seals, and brake fluid.
