Narrow Superlite 4R Forged Radial Mount

The Forged Narrow Superlite 4R (FNSL4R) is our newest version of the venerable Superlite caliper series. It adds the versatility and convenience of radial mounting to this popular caliper group. Radial mounting simplifies adaptation and provides two planes of adjustment for precise alignment over the rotor. These calipers integrate big brake styling with Wilwood’s latest technology to generate big stopping power in extreme environments, and across a wide range of vehicles.

Key to the superior performance of the FNSL4R is its exceptionally durable and efficient body design.

At 4.9 pounds to start, it is the product of computer generated solid modeling and stress analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The signature feature of this new caliper design is the forging. Each body is stress-flow forged from premium grade aluminum alloy billets. Stress-flow forging re-aligns the internal metallic grain structure to flow within the contour of the caliper body. This process eliminates the stresses and interruptions to the internal grain structure that occurs when machining a straight block. Simply stated, there is no better way to build a stronger aluminum caliper body. Available in a range of piston diameters, they provide braking as either a front or rear caliper. Standard FNSL4R calipers feature one-piece stainless steel pistons. Stainless steel is used for its low heat transfer properties and high resistance to corrosion. Calipers can be upgraded with Wilwood’s exclusive Thermlock pistons. This multi-piece piston design creates a highly efficient thermal barrier to further reduce heat transfer from the pads into the caliper body, seals, and fluid.
