MC5 Mechanical
Wilwood's MC5 mechanical parking brake caliper is a multi-purpose, cable-actuated brake caliper that combines high performance with a simple design and construction, and is the perfect solution for vehicles requiring an independent, mechanically-actuated parking brake. Designed to accept 0.250” thick rotors with a diameter range of 11.00” to 12.88”, the MC5 combines an efficient die-cast body with a forged anvil for superior strength under load, while remaining lightweight at only 3.30 lbs (2.95 without pads). Each caliper includes our high-friction, high-static retention Composite Metallic (CM) brake pads and comes pre-installed with anti-rattle clips. Designed with noise-dampening features for quiet, vibration-free operation, the MC5 floating caliper includes a steel bracket for convenient mounting. Although the caliper is built with a top cable bracket, the lever cartridge can be adjusted in three positions for optimal positioning and easy cable installation. The 1.25” aluminum piston is fully dust-booted to prevent the entry of moisture and debris. Each caliper is equipped with a cable return spring, and the mechanical lever accepts a parking brake cable with a 0.310” diameter barrel end*. The convenient manual adjuster requires no special tools, allowing for incremental adjustment to compensate for pad and rotor wear. MC5 calipers are available with a Type III anodized finish.
