D52 Dual Piston Floating Caliper
The D52 caliper is a direct 2-piston replacement for the original single calipers on many 1968-1996 GM vehicles and trucks. Forged aluminum bodies, stainless steel pistons, and competition-style high-temperature seals put an end to the rust, corrosion, and seal failures that plague the original caliper design. D52 brake calipers offer low-maintenance performance and significant weight savings, along with high-temperature reliability for both street and track. D52 brake calipers mount in the original location over the original brake discs, use original D52 brake pads and a 7/16-20 banjo bolt brake line. They can be used with most wheels that do not interfere with the original calipers. Rear calipers with 1.25" pistons provide 2.46 cubic inches of piston area per caliper, to maintain original front-to-rear brake bias and use of the original master cylinder. D52 calipers come with hardened slide pins.
