CANchecked MFD28 Gen2 Universal Multifunction Display

With the CANchecked MFD28 Gen2 universal data display, you always have all information in view.

The MFD28 Gen2 in the universal version fits every vehicle and is an intelligent display with essential functions. The aluminum bezel, visible from the front, is machined and black anodized. It can be used both vertically and horizontally.

Main Features

Compact Size: A cutout of 71 x 53 mm with a depth of 26 mm is sufficient to recess the data display.
Can Bus: Detailed vehicle data display, such as manufacturer diagnostic tools.
Gear Indicator: Directly via Can Bus or calculated from speed and rpm.
Touch Screen: Navigate through pages with intuitive gestures.
Customization: Design your own pages, add images, or start animations.
Additional Inputs: Connect up to 4 analog inputs and an ethanol sensor directly to the display.
CAN Switching: Use the display as a keypad and send your own CAN messages to the bus.
Customizable Alarms: Easily set up and activate customizable alarms. For example, you will receive an important warning when the exhaust gas temperature exceeds 900 degrees.

Data Logging: Log and save your data to the internal SD card for later analysis.

Performance Meter: Measure your 0-100 km/h, 100-200 km/h, and 0-200 km/h times with the integrated performance meter, no additional hardware needed.
DTC*: Read and clear errors from the engine control unit, transmission, ABS, and all-wheel drive.

Dimming*: The display automatically dims along with the instrument cluster.

Display Setup Software (DSS)

With CANchecked's DSS, you can fully customize your display. With the integrated log viewer, you can download and view log files. Additionally, a CAN logger is included. The core is the integrated "TRI Editor," with which you can adjust sensors (whether CAN Bus or internal): assign minimum and maximum values for warnings and change the names of your sensors.

Supported Values

Many customers ask: "What values can I get from my ECU?" The answer: "ALL."

We have reverse-engineered data from most engines and can provide detailed information. Our display supports querying CAN Bus data (UDS, TP2, manufacturer-specific protocols).

By default, your display comes with predefined TRI/TRX files. All sensors to be queried are defined in these files. These vary depending on the engine. Below is an excerpt of the possibilities:

Temperatures:

Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, fuel temperature, DSG gearbox temperature.

Pressures:

Boost pressure, ambient pressure, pre-feed fuel pump pressure, rail pressure (actual/target).

Lambda/mixture

Lambda value, injection time, short-term Lambda adjustment, long-term Lambda adjustment

Others

RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 ignition advance in %, terminal 30 voltage, engine torque, gear, diesel-specific values

If values are missing, they can be added later. Of course, your new data display supports a wide range of freely programmable control units, such as:

Connection and Extension

Sensors of any type can be connected via the four analog inputs; we support 0-5V linear signals, as well as... NTC sensors. Our CAN-certified sensors are stored by default in the TRI/TRX files and only need to be connected:

AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)

AIN2: Transducer for Type K exhaust gas temperature sensor (TCC01)

AIN3: Pressure sensor 0-10 bar (FLP01)

AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0-5.5 bar absolute (BST10)

For connection, you can use our pre-assembled AIN wiring harness.

In addition to analog sensors, you can also connect our external shift light with eight LEDs. This can flash in different colors, and the speed limits and colors can be configured directly on the display.

The ethanol sensor is connected directly to the display. A pull-up resistor (10 kΩ) is needed between 5V and the signal. This way, ethanol content and temperature can be displayed and logged directly on the screen.

Advanced Functions

With math channels, you can calculate sensor data from each other. The user table allows you to generate additional sensors with 2D or 3D maps.
