PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
With the CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 display for your pre-facelift VW Amarok, left-hand or right-hand drive, you'll always have all relevant values in view.
The MFD15 Gen2 is equipped with an OLED display that offers excellent readability even in direct sunlight. Thanks to its 52mm outer diameter, the display is compatible with commercially available interior frames, even without a specific vehicle mount. Operation is via two push buttons, located on the windshield, or with the optional rotary knob.
Key Features
Compact design: 52mm diameter and only 12.5mm depth.
Flasher: The front LED of the display can be used as a turn signal or warning LED, and is freely configurable.
CAN Bus: Compatible with CAN Bus ECUs, OBD2 from 2008 and deep values for VW/Audi from 2008, or create your own CAN stream.
WLAN: Connect to your smartphone or PC and perform all subsequent steps via our web interface.
Additional inputs: Connect up to 6 analog sensors to the inputs or connect an ethanol sensor* directly to the display.
Pre-defined alarms: Pre-defined alarms can be easily activated and customized. For example, receive an important alert when exhaust gas temperature exceeds 900 degrees. Customization: Use your own logo or background image to customize your MFD15 Gen2.
Online logging*: Log your data with your smartphone or PC and save the log to your device for later analysis.
Flex fuel*: View ethanol content and temperature on the display.
CAN Switching*: Switch between CANs using the buttons on the display and send the readings from your analog inputs to the CAN bus.
Different views
Choose up to eight pages with different views and customize your display to best suit you and your vehicle:
Analog pointer
Double value
Gear indicator
Quad values
Sextuple values
Bar + dual display
Round display
Bar chart (dual horizontal)
Performance meter
Bar graph (1 to 6 vertical bars)
Single value
Online DSS - oDSS
New to our MFD15 Gen2, you can access the device via WLAN. This allows you to configure the MFD15 Gen2 from your smartphone or PC.
With oDSS, you can fully configure your display, log values (license required), upload your own start image, and update the display.
Supported Values
A common question from our customers is: "What values can I request from my ECU?" The answer: "ALL". Our MFD15 Gen2 is compatible with ISO 11898-2 and SAE J2284.
ECU manufacturers determine which values are sent via the CAN bus interface. In this case, documentation is essential, even in DBC file format that can be imported using our DSS. As a customer, you can access our extensive list of compatible ECUs. In total, depending on the manufacturer, up to 64 sensors can be queried.
OBD2 queries via CAN Bus (11-bit/29-bit) are also implemented. Vehicle-specific protocols such as UDS or TP2 are also available.
Included by default:
- OBD2 - 11 and 29-bit
- Ecumaster - Classic and Black
- VAG PQ34
- Haltech v2
- LinkECU
- MaxxECU
- Motec M1
- Emtron
- Megasquirt 2 and 3
If the desired ECU is not listed, you can download or request the corresponding TRI/TRX from our database.
For all VW/Audi vehicles manufactured from 2008 onwards, we offer detailed data queries by protocol. Values such as oil temperature, boost pressure, transmission temperature, cylinder-selective ignition return angle, high/low pressure, wastegate actuation, and much more can be queried and displayed.
Internal LED
The internal LED can be used as a shift light and a warning light.
As a shift light, you can assign up to 8 different colors, speed limits, and the speed at which it starts flashing.
As a warning LED, you can assign a minimum and maximum value to each sensor (in the oDSS, under "Sensors") and activate the corresponding LED. If the sensor exceeds the maximum value or falls below the minimum, the LED will flash in the previously configured color. Flashing is deactivated during the warning.
Connection and Extension
Included in every shipment:
MFD15 Gen2 display
Connector B (6-pin)
Connector C (12-pin)
Pre-crimped 20cm connection cables for power, CAN bus, analog inputs, 5V, and sensor ground
Pins for crimping
Two 1 kΩ resistors (for NTC sensor pull-up)
Vehicle-specific vent trim
OBD connection cable
Sensors of any type can be connected via the six analog inputs; we support 0-5V linear sensors and NTC sensors.
Our in-house manufactured CAN-checked Display sensors are stored by default in the TRI/TRX files and only need to be connected:
AIN1: Temperature sensor
AIN2: Transducer for K-type exhaust gas temperature probe
AIN3: Pressure sensor 0-10 bar
AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0-5.5 bar absolute
AIN5: Not pre-configured
AIN6: Not pre-configured
For connection, you can use our pre-assembled 4-way AIN harness.
If you have the corresponding license*, you can additionally connect an ethanol sensor directly to the display via a separate pin.
Optional accessories
CC22501 ETK01: External rotary knob with 50cm PnP connection cable
CC22100 CBD08: Eight-way CAN distribution hub
CC22902 NTC01: 1/8" NPT liquid temperature sensor
CC22903 TCC01 - K-type transducer 0-1250 °C
CC22901 FLP01 - Pressure sensor 0-10 bar (145 psi) M10x1
CC22900 BST01 - Pressure sensor 0-5.5 bar absolute (80 psi)
*Additional Licenses
Real-time logging of the MFD15 Gen2
With the additional "Real-time logging" license, the display can log sensor data in the oDSS. You can then download the log as a file to your smartphone or PC.
All sensors are logged (ATTENTION: for OBD and UDS, only those currently displayed are logged). Select the sensors you want to visualize graphically.
Ethanol sensor for flex fuel directly on the MFD15 Gen2
With the additional license for the ethanol sensor, you can connect a sensor directly to the display. You need a pull-up resistor (10 kΩ) between 5V and the signal.
You can now see the ethanol content and fuel temperature, and also log them.
CAN switching and AIN forwarding
With the additional license for CAN switching and AIN forwarding, you can use the keys on your display or the rotary knob to switch CAN switches and apply the input voltages of your analog inputs to the CAN bus.
