MFD28 Gen2 with CAN certification specific to your BMW 5 Series E34: seamless integration and all data always in view.
The MFD28 Gen2 transforms the ventilation grille into an intelligent display with essential functions. Our displays are designed for anyone to install. Most include illustrated installation instructions, so you can install it yourself without the need for a workshop.
Main Features
Seamless Integration: The vehicle-specific frame allows air to pass around the display.
CAN Bus: Display of detailed vehicle data, such as manufacturer diagnostic tools.
Gear Indicator: Directly via CAN Bus or calculated from speed and RPM.
Touchscreen: Navigate through pages with intuitive gestures.
Customization: Design your own pages, add images, or start animations.
Additional Inputs: Connect up to 4 analog inputs and an ethanol sensor directly to the display.
CAN Switching: Use the display as a keypad and send your own CAN messages to the bus.
Customizable Alarms: Easily set up and activate customizable alarms. For example, you will receive an important warning when the exhaust gas temperature exceeds 900 degrees.
Data Logging: Log and save your data on the internal SD card for later analysis.
Performance Meter: Measure your 0-100 km/h, 100-200 km/h, and 0-200 km/h times with the integrated performance meter, no additional hardware needed.
DTC*: Read and clear errors from the engine control unit, transmission, ABS, and all-wheel drive.
Dimming*: The display dims automatically along with the instrument panel.

Display Configuration Software (DSS)
With CANchecked's DSS, you can fully customize your display. With the integrated log viewer, you can download and view log files. It also includes a CAN logger. The core is the integrated TRI editor, with which you can adjust sensors (whether CAN Bus or internal): assign minimum and maximum values for warnings and change the names of your sensors.

Many customers ask: What values can I get from my ECU? The answer: ALL.
We have reverse-engineered data from most engines and can provide detailed information. Our display supports querying CAN Bus data (UDS, TP2, manufacturer-specific protocols).
By default, your display is delivered with predefined TRI/TRX files. All queried sensors are defined in these files. These vary depending on the engine. Below is an excerpt of the possibilities:
Temperatures:
Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, fuel temperature, DSG gearbox temperature.
Pressures:
Boost pressure, ambient pressure, pre-feed fuel pump pressure, rail pressure (actual/target).
Lambda/Mixture
Lambda value, injection time, short-term Lambda trim, long-term Lambda trim
Other
RPM, mass airflow, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retard per cylinder, N75 ignition advance in %, terminal 30 voltage, engine torque, gear, diesel-specific values

Connection and Expansion
Sensors of any type can be connected via the four analog inputs. We support linear 0-5V sensors and NTC sensors. Our CAN-certified sensors are stored by default in the TRI/TRX files and only need to be connected:
AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
AIN2: Transducer for type K exhaust gas temperature sensor (TCC01)
AIN3: Pressure sensor 0-10 bar (FLP01)
