PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
With this CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 data display specific to your VW New Beetle 9C, you will always have all relevant values in view.
The MFD15 Gen2 is equipped with an OLED display that offers excellent readability even in direct sunlight. This kit includes a vehicle-specific trim and a connection kit. It is operated via the two push buttons on the front panel. You can also connect our optional rotary knob.
Main features
Compact design: 52 mm in diameter and only 12.5 mm deep.
Front panel LED: The display's front LED can be used as a shift light or as a warning light.
CAN Bus: Compatible with CAN Bus ECUs, proprietary CAN streams, and, since 2008, OBD2 and deep values for VAG vehicles.
Wi-Fi: Connect it to your smartphone or PC and configure it using our web application.
Additional inputs: Connect up to 6 analog sensors to the inputs or an ethanol sensor* directly to the display.
Predefined alarms: Easily activate and customize predefined alarms. For example, receive an alert when the exhaust gas temperature exceeds 900 degrees. Customization: Use your own logo and color scheme to personalize your MFD15 Gen2.
Online logging*: Log your data with your smartphone or PC and save the log on your device for later analysis.
Flex fuel*: View ethanol content and temperature on the display.
CAN switching*: Switch between CAN streams using the display buttons and send readings from your analog inputs to the CAN bus.

Configuration via Online Display Setup Software (oDSS)
New in our MFD15 Gen2, you can access the device via Wi-Fi. This allows you to configure the MFD15 Gen2 from your smartphone or PC.
With oDSS, you can fully configure your display, log values (license required), upload your own start-up image, and update the display.
Supported values
A frequently asked question from customers is: What values can I request from my ECU? The answer: ALL. Your new MFD15 Gen2 is compatible with ISO 11898-2 and SAE J2284.
ECU manufacturers determine which values are sent via the CAN bus interface. In this case, documentation is essential, possibly even in the form of a DBC file that can be imported using our DSS. As a customer, you can access our extensive list of already implemented ECUs. In total, depending on the manufacturer, up to 64 sensors can be queried.
OBD2 queries via CAN Bus (11-bit/29-bit) are also implemented. Likewise, vehicle-specific protocols such as UDS or TP2 are available.
Included by default: - OBD2 - 11 and 29 bit - Ecumaster - Classic and Black - VAG PQ34 - Haltech v2 - LinkECU - MaxxECU - Motec M1 - Emtron - Megasquirt 2 and 3
If the desired ECU is not listed, you can download or request the corresponding TRI/TRX from our database.
For all VAG vehicles manufactured from 2008 onwards (and in some cases, also for earlier models), we offer detailed data queries by protocol. Values such as oil temperature, boost pressure, transmission temperature, cylinder-selective ignition angle retard, high/low pressure, wastegate activation, and much more can be queried and displayed.
Integrated LED
The internal LED can be used as a shift light and as a warning light.
As a shift light, you can assign up to 8 different colors and speed limits, as well as the speed at which it begins to flash.
When configured as a warning light, you can assign a minimum and maximum value for each sensor. If the sensor exceeds the maximum value or is below the minimum, the LED flashes in the previously configured color. The shift light is deactivated during the warning period.
Package contents and extensions
Included in every package:
MFD15 Gen2 Data Display
Vehicle-specific trim for left-hand and right-hand drive vehicles
Vehicle-specific connection cable
Quick start guide
Connector B (6-pin Molex)
Connector C (12-pin Molex)
Pre-assembled connection cables of different colors (length: 20 cm, intended use: power, CAN bus, analog inputs, 5 V, sensor ground)
Crimp pins
Two 1 kΩ resistors (as pull-up resistor for NTC sensors)
Sensors of any type can be connected via the six analog inputs; we support 0-5 V linear sensors and NTC sensors.
The characteristic curves of our CAN-certified sensors are stored in the display at the factory and work immediately (plug and play):
AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
AIN2: Transducer for type K exhaust gas temperature probe (TCC01)
AIN3: 0-10 bar pressure sensor (FLP01)
AIN4: 0-5.5 bar absolute boost pressure sensor (BST10)
AIN5: Not preconfigured
AIN6: Not preconfigured
For the connection, you can use our pre-assembled 4-way AIN harness.
If you have the corresponding license*, you can additionally connect an ethanol sensor directly to the display via a separate pin. Optional accessories
CC22501 ETK01 - External rotary knob with 50 cm PnP connection cable
CC22100 CBD08 - Eight-way CAN distribution hub
CC22780 ANC04 - Four-way AIN harness
CC22902 NTC01 - 1/8 in. NPT liquid temperature sensor
CC22903 TCC01 - 0-1250 °C type K transducer
CC22901 FLP01 - 0-10 bar (145 psi) M10x1 pressure sensor
CC22900 BST10 - 6.5 bar (95 psi) relative pressure sensor
*Additional licenses
MFD15 Gen2 real-time logging
With the "Real-time logging" additional license, your display can log sensor data in the oDSS. Later, you can download the log as a file to your smartphone or PC.
All sensors are captured in the log (CAUTION: for OBD and UDS, only those shown on the display). Select the sensors you wish to visualize graphically.
Ethanol sensor for flex fuel directly on the MFD15 Gen2
With the additional license for the ethanol sensor, you can connect the sensor directly to the display. You need a pull-up resistor (10 kΩ) between 5 V and the signal. You can now view ethanol content as well as fuel temperature, and also log it.
CAN switching and AIN forwarding
With the additional license for CAN switching and AIN forwarding, you can use your display keys or the rotary knob to toggle CAN switches and apply the input voltages of your analog inputs to the CAN bus.
