T25 T28 Turbo Heat Shield Blanket Forge Motorsport FMTUBL12

The Forge Motorsport FMTUBL12 turbo blanket has been specifically designed for use with the Owen Developments GBT-5465-HTA external wastegate turbocharger, the same one that was used and developed on our Forge Motorsport Mk1 Golf Demo race car.

It is also compatible with, among others, Garrett GT2254R, GT2560R, GT2871R, GT286ORS, GTX25/28, TD04 14T, T25G, VF34, VF35, and IGI VQ22 turbochargers. The turbo blanket is also compatible with some internal wastegate turbochargers and is not limited to the application list mentioned.

This turbo blanket is designed to insulate the radiant heat produced by the turbocharger, isolating the hot side of the compressor housing and thereby ensuring that the cold side operates at maximum efficiency. This design has been created to operate in the most demanding environments and has been shown to withstand temperatures up to 1370 °C (2500 °F) radiant heat, which helps protect and extend the life of engine components. Its innovative design keeps exhaust gas heat confined to the hot side of the turbocharger, away from the cold side and the intake tract, helping to reduce turbo lag and intake air temperatures, resulting in increased power.

Please note that the turbo blanket will lose flexibility during the first few heat cycles as the material cures. Therefore, once installed, it should not be frequently removed, as this may damage it.
