The stock 2.0L EcoBoost engine piping features numerous bends, restrictive diameters, and degradation-prone materials, all slowing the flow of air to and from your intercooler, hampering your Focus ST's performance. For starters, we eliminated the turbo muffler from the stock hot-side piping design and reduced the number of bends, making for a more direct flow of air from the turbo to the intercooler. In addition to reducing bends, we increased the piping's inner diameter to 2.5-inch high-grade aluminum, allowing for a 14% increase in volume and 26% greater flow than the OEM. The stock rubber connections have also been replaced with durable silicone couplings to ensure a solid connection between the piping and the intercooler. The improvements aren't limited to the hot-side piping. The cold-side pipe also received a revamp, replacing the degradation-prone rubber construction with 5-layers of durable, heat-resistant fiber silicone, ensuring that cold-side airflow stays cool. For added support, the unique section of piping is reinforced with steel wire, ensuring it holds its shape under heavy load. Speaking of shape, the Mishimoto Performance cold-side intercooler piping features an elliptical shape to accommodate the larger size of the Mishimoto Performance radiator. The result of adding the complete Mishimoto Performance intercooler and piping kit to your 2013+ Focus ST along with the Mishimoto Performance intake is a 21% increase in charged airflow through the system, and an additional 8 hp and 10 lb-ft of torque on top of the intake and intercooler gains on the stock tune.
