To complete our line of intercooler components for the 2016-2018 Ford Focus RS, we at Mishimoto are excited to introduce our hot-side intercooler pipe. This pipe features a truly innovative design that aids in cooling more than just intake air temperatures. Not only does it increase internal volume by 40% over stock, with 2.5” inlet and outlet diameters, and maintain an average 45% pressure drop, but the cast center section retains the use of the factory ducting that directs airflow to the front PTU. A standard cylindrical pipe restricts airflow, which doesn’t help in addressing the known issue of drivetrain overheating when the RS is pushed to its limits. Our pipe is shaped to direct air right to the front PTU utilizing that front ducting, so no airflow is lost as with a traditional pipe design. Additionally, this pipe comes with 5-ply, wire-reinforced silicone to attach it to your turbo and intercooler, providing superior heat resistance and flexibility to accommodate engine movement. The pipe can also be installed without removing the lower cross bar. The kit includes all necessary hardware, installs directly with no modifications, and is backed by Mishimoto’s Lifetime Warranty.
