The I-Beam connecting rods for BMW B-Series 3.0L engines (B58 engine) are made from 4340 high-tensile steel. Designed for high performance, extreme durability, and rigidity, as well as being lightweight, these connecting rods feature a tapered small end, making them compatible with OEM pistons. The bushings, made from AMPCO 18 material, offer excellent wear and fatigue resistance and feature a radial groove for oil supply. They have been shot-peened to relieve material stress and subjected to a multi-stage heat treatment to increase their rigidity. Strict production process tolerances ensure a perfect fit and optimize oil clearances. Bending and twisting are strictly controlled. Each connecting rod includes ARP 2000 hex-head bolts with a strength of 220,000 psi. As an upgrade option, ARP L19 material with a strength of 260,000 psi can be purchased.
