Forge Motorsport FMDVR60A Blow-Off Valve Fitting Kit for Mini R58 60 2011+ Peugeot 208 2012+

Specifically designed for Peugeot/BMW N18 engines (Cooper S from 2011, JCW Cooper S from 2013, R58 Coupe from 2012, Peugeot 208 GTi from 2012, Peugeot 308 GTI, RCZ THP 156 and 200 from 2011). This product is recommended when turbo boost has been increased through remapping, for those who want a louder blow-off valve sound, or simply for greater reliability compared to the fragile original components. The main known issue with the stock valve is a diaphragm rupture that prevents the valve from opening completely. This does not always trigger the check engine light because the valve can still be opened by turbo pressure. This is a very common problem. The other issue is that the stock spring cap is made of very thin plastic and becomes brittle over time, heat, and oil, eventually failing. This prevents the diaphragm from sealing and also causes the problems described above. This failure can also lead to the blow-off valve breaking during turbocharger removal and, in rarer cases, plastic components entering the turbo and destroying it.

The alternative offered by Forge significantly increases reliability. Their valve is made entirely of aluminum and operates with a piston (which does not break, unlike the diaphragm). It replaces the original component with a pressure/vacuum actuated piston that also maintains the stock ECU's control over the valve. This blow-off valve has been tested on VAG vehicles for many years. The spring is interchangeable for different turbocharger pressure levels, and the solenoid connects directly to the included harness connector.
