Ford launched its Focus with a 2.0T EcoBoost engine, which boasted the perfect blend of performance and practicality; however, the intercooler system left something to be desired. While the piping included aluminum sections, the restrictive diameter, not to mention the turbo silencer, limited the Focus ST's performance potential. We've replaced the hot-side piping with mandrel-bent aluminum, eliminating the silencer and increasing the diameter to allow for 26% better flow through the hot side. All degradation-prone rubber has also been replaced with wire-reinforced silicone, ensuring a long-lasting hot-side connection, but also smoother flow through the cold-side piping. All together, the Focus ST intercooler piping kit provides a 21% increase in flow to and from the intercooler. The piping isn't the only part of this kit that increases flow; the bar-and-plate construction opens up air channels within the core, allowing compressed air to pass more freely than in the stock intercooler core. This improved all-aluminum construction also helps dissipate heat, preventing dreaded heat soak in demanding driving conditions and supplying properly cooled air through the ST's intake manifold. The Focus ST Performance Intercooler Kit also adds 8 hp and 10 ft-lb of torque to the power curve and has a maximum power rating of 550 hp.
