RacingLine's design vision was made possible by their advanced 5-axis CNC manufacturing techniques, giving this kit greater similarity to high-level motorsport components than to conventional aftermarket parts. The result is a combination of maximum on-track performance with lightness, rigidity, and exquisite attention to detail. Each light and compact Forged Monoblock caliper is a unique piece machined from an ultra-strong forged block. Instead of two bolted halves, the design requires a complex 5-axis CNC machining process to construct each caliper in a single piece, a technique generally reserved only for the highest specification competition kits. The result is a 6-piston caliper that is stiffer and lighter than any other, combined with exceptional cooling characteristics and a stunning finish. The robustness of this construction allows for thin-profile calipers that, in addition to providing extreme rigidity and light weight, facilitate crucial wheel clearance. Since RacingLine's kit is designed exclusively for VWG vehicles (instead of the generic calipers offered by others), they have invested considerable development time to perfectly size the pistons to match VWG master cylinders and servos, thus achieving a progressive and precise pedal response. Despite the size of these calipers, they weigh significantly less than factory calipers. The caliper, pad, and bracket assembly weighs 5.3 kg (11.7 lb) compared to 8.6 kg (18.9 lb) for the stock Golf 7R/S3 equivalent. RacingLine's kit offers you the option of 355mm or 380mm triple-groove two-piece floating brake discs, which provide much greater thermal capacity, thus reducing the effect of fading. These high-quality cast carbon floating discs are made from a mixture of high-quality steel combined with carbon, providing a much higher friction coefficient compared to normal steel discs. The floating mount between the disc and the top hat allows for thermal expansion and contraction to prevent cracks. Anti-rattle mounts keep noise down. The 355mm disc kit requires 18" or larger wheels for proper clearance; the 380mm kit requires at least 19" wheels. Ceramic composite street-use brake pads are included. RacingLine has specified a generic pad size for this kit, meaning there is a wide range of alternative pad brands and compounds available if you have your favorites or if you plan extensive track use. This Stage 3 brake kit includes everything needed for installation: discs, calipers, mounting brackets, high-performance pads, and braided steel lines.
