Clutch engagement is more aggressive than organic kits, so they are not recommended for daily driven vehicles. These kits feature a high-quality cover with increased clamping force over standard, typically 20-40% depending on individual vehicle requirements. They use a ceramic friction disc with multiple segments to provide a similar working temperature range to ‘1B’ discs, but with slightly smoother engagement. This kit is less commonly used but is available for situations such as low-speed testing where the operator is experiencing temperatures too high for organics and thus needs a higher temperature clutch but with better modulation than the ‘1B’. Typically, customers only get this option if they have previously used a ‘1A’ and found it to be insufficient due to operator driving style or particular vehicle demands.
