This would typically draw unwanted crankcase vapors, unburnt fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately following high load operation. To maintain factory functionality, the CCV catch can installs in-line between the crankcase vent (CCV) port and the intake tube. Under low loads, it is under atmospheric pressure. However, when the engine is under high load (WOT), the line experiences high flow from the crankcase into the intake system. This would typically cause oil and sludge to collect in the air filter intake tube.
