Radium Engineering PCV Oil Catch Can Kit for 1998-2005 Mazda MX-5 Fluid Lock

Radium Engineering catch cans feature oversized 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, two-stage oil separation baffling, and an O-ring sealed dipstick. These kits include everything necessary for a complete installation. The catch can extracts oil and water condensation from the crankcase gases that would otherwise enter the intake manifold. Additionally, the closed system prevents unwanted oil fumes from entering the cabin. FEATURES: Effectively increases octane and engine performance by cleaner intake air. Prevents oil buildup on intake tract walls or intercooler, throttle body, intake manifold, etc. Excessive oil accumulation can indicate a damaged engine. Reduces hydrocarbon emissions. This catch can mounts using existing holes and seamlessly integrates with surrounding components. The anodized aluminum bracket mounts behind the right headlight. NOTE: Due to clearance for pop-up headlights, these kits are not compatible with 1989-1997 Mazda MX-5 Miatas or Eunos Roadsters.

SAE quick connect fittings are included for both catch can ports.

The PCV catch can kit improves the performance of the crankcase ventilation system. The catch can installs inline between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. When intake manifold pressure is at or above atmospheric pressure, the PCV check valve closes, and therefore this hose experiences no flow. Conversely, PCV hoses will experience controlled vacuum when the engine is idling, steady state cruising, and decelerating. This would normally draw crankcase vapors, unburnt fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately following high load operation.
