The introduction of the S55 engine to the M3 and M4 in 2015 marked the first time the compact M cars incorporated factory turbos, but these engines brought another deep-rooted tradition along with them: blow-by. The Mishimoto BMW M3/M4 Baffled Oil Catch Can Kit utilizes the proven engineering of the patent-pending Mishimoto 2-Port Compact Baffled Oil Catch Can, which features a 50-micron bronze filter and an internal baffle to better separate oil from crankcase vapors. Mishimoto engineers designed a CNC-machined lid with large inlet and outlet ports that match the internal dimensions of the crankcase ventilation (CCV) hose system. This baffled catch can protects the intercooler, intake system, and VANOS system from blow-by and helps maintain proper octane levels to reduce potential detonation. The kit includes two direct-fit hoses, which require no modifications to the engine cover, and a direct-fit, CNC-machined aluminum mounting bracket that is extremely easy to install and places the can in an easily accessible location. First, our cans are not heated. This means all blow-by can condense in the can, including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors. Most AOS systems also drain the blow-by back into the oil pan, whereas our cans trap it and keep it out of the engine permanently.
