The introduction of the S55 engine to the M3 and M4 in 2015 marked the first time compact M cars featured factory turbos, but these engines brought another time-honored tradition with them: blow-by. The Mishimoto BMW M3/M4 Baffled Oil Catch Can Kit uses the proven, patent-pending engineering of the Mishimoto 2-Port Compact Baffled Oil Catch Can, which features a 50-micron bronze filter and an internal baffle to better separate oil from crankcase vapors. Mishimoto engineers designed a CNC-machined top with large inlet and outlet ports that match the internal dimensions of the crankcase ventilation (CCV) hose. This baffled oil catch can protects your intercooler, intake system, and VANOS system from blow-by and helps maintain proper octane levels to reduce potential detonation. The kit includes two direct-fit hoses, which require no modifications to the engine cover, and an extremely easy-to-install, direct-fit, CNC-machined aluminum mounting bracket that places the can in an easily accessible location. First, our cans are not heated. This means that all the blow-by can condense in the can, including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors. Most AOS systems also drain blow-by back into the oil pan, while our cans trap it and keep it out of the engine permanently.
