The V2 front lock kit for the GT86 steering rack is made of high-strength steel. It is slightly heavier than the V1 kit, but it is more robust, rigid, and offers more adjustment options and improved kinematics. Due to the boxer engine, the original steering rack location is not suitable for drifting, so it has been relocated in front of the subframe, allowing the use of any engine with a rear sump. The main advantage of the front steering rack location is greater steering precision at steep angles, which greatly facilitates handling the car in extreme conditions. To use this kit, a BMW E9X or Lexus LS (UCF30) steering rack is required to replace the original electric power steering.
