Forge Direct Intake Kit for Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, and Skoda 1.5 TSI EVO
Forge is proud to introduce the latest high-performance intake system for the popular 1.5 TSI Evo engine, found in a wide range of VW, Audi, Skoda, and Seat vehicles.
This kit includes a high-flow, pleated, synthetic nanofiber Forge Ram Air air filter. Its optimal size and fit are adapted to the available space, providing superior flow and filtration, with improved breathing for the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. Additionally, it has a larger surface area than the stock filter and many competing alternatives.
The intake diameters have been carefully adjusted to provide the exact amount of air, ensuring a consistent and solid power increase across the entire RPM range, with no loss of torque at low RPMs. The piping system is specifically designed to feed the turbo without interruption. This translates to increased intake acoustics during acceleration, which enhances the driving experience and adds a more exciting touch to the TSI EVO engine.
How was the kit made?
As with all intake systems designed by Forge, high airflow is paramount. For this reason, Forge focused on incorporating a large-diameter, high-flow silicone hose with an adapter for the turbocharger inlet. This contributes to improving engine performance and airflow in several ways. The kit directs air directly to the turbocharger and allows more air to be compressed than the original intake duct thanks to its greater capacity. This can have a positive effect on vehicle acceleration after prolonged deceleration or between gear changes, as more air is kept within the intake system.
The intake duct developed by Forge features a volume increase of more than 50%, with a 46% increase in the turbocharger inlet area. This, coupled with the absence of internal baffles or restrictive noise, improves engine sound and throttle response.
Using Solidworks®, CAD engineers designed the heat shield to perfectly fit all contours of the engine bay. This shield, combined with specially formulated thermal coatings, protects the intake from radiant heat while directing cool air from the original intake duct to the filter and housing.
