Mishimoto has developed a performance air intake specifically for the 2012+ BMW F30 with N20/N26 engines. This performance air intake is safe to use with the factory tune as it will not affect air/fuel ratios under load. This intake features a unique and aggressive tone under acceleration and increased turbo spool, and its free-flowing design amplifies the sound of the turbocharger and blow-off valve. The stock intake ducting is utilized to provide cold airflow to Mishimoto's oiled, high-flow air filter, which features an increased filtration surface area compared to the stock paper filter. This filter is cleanable and reusable, ensuring a long service life. The intake includes a closed airbox which collects all of the cold outside air from the front of the engine. The airbox is made from 5052 aluminum with a black powder-coated finish to reduce weight compared to a steel intake box and to prevent corrosion. The airbox also protects against engine bay heat soak and provides a unique look in the engine bay. This unit easily installs and works perfectly with the factory tune.
